Happy Beth

Hello, thanks for visiting my site.

I was born in 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana. I moved to Illinois when I was 13, and then to Chicago in 2000 to attend the Illinois Institute of Art.

I studied Media Arts and Animation, and graduated in 2003. I've invited the opportunity to work in a variety of creative projects, throughout my artistic career in Chicago. Although my preference lies toward painting and illustration I also enjoy photography, collage, wood burning crafts, tattoos, science fiction books, and ping pong.

The majority of my paintings are done on vintage windows, taken out of homes and apartments. I "reverse" paint in layers, and illustrate with marker, directly on the glass. I collect and recycle these unique, beautiful windows, so that they may be hung again, as window art.

My paintings are simple, colorful reflections of my inner child. I tend to create scenes filled with pleasant absurdities, and subtle nonsense. Vague elements from dreams, creatures, and impossible landscapes have inspired many of my favorite paintings.

My studio is in the Chicago Arts District in Pilsen.
